It’s amazing how a simple change of wall color can completely transform a space. Both times Jason and I have moved into a new house we spent the first weekends painting the interior to make the new space our own.
With the high vaulted ceilings this wasn’t an option for the mountain house. Turmeric yellow covered the walls throughout the entire house. Every. Single. Room. This was paired with a saffron orange on the vaulted ceilings. Not a DIY project, it called for the work of professionals. But with furnishing the house and all other expenses the first year it got put on the back burner.
So I created a Pinterest board and began pinning my ideas for new paint colors and sharing with Jason and the RCs. The architectural elements of the heavy wood beams were one of the first things that attracted us to the house but with the orange ceiling they blended in.

The contrast of the white background now allows their rich warm tones to stand out. Now we need to get some artwork on these bare walls!
